Midpoint Recoding

A form of recoding where an Ordered Categorical Variable is recoded as a Numeric Variable by replacing categories with their midpoints. For example:

Original Categorical Variable	Recoded Numeric Variable
18 to 24	21
25 to 34	30
35 to 54	55
55 or more	65
