A variable in an experiment that is neither the Outcome Variable nor a Predictor Variable and is typically not of direct interest to the researcher.
Also known as
- Nuisance variable.
- Auxiliary variable.
- Covariate (although this is also used as a synonym for Predictor Variable).
- Concomitant variable (although this is also used as a synonym for Predictor Variable).
